
A mycotoxin that can build up in the liver and become carcinogenic. Foodstuffs associated are milk and dairy products as well as dry ingredients such as flour all due to presence in cereals and animal feed. Maximum levels of aflatoxins (aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2 and M1) are laid down in Commission Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006. Produced by Aspergillus flavus, A parasiticus and A nomius.
