
These are commonly used when either little pressure drop or no turbulence is required. Because they a straight- through valve they are suitable for high viscosity liquids. Manual valves are essentially shut-off valves only but when automatically actuated they can be used as a control valve. Can be an extreme foreign body, microbiological and allergenic risk if not treated, stripped and maintained properly.
