This refers to the operating function of the piece of kit and ensuring it is working to the settings given. Different to equipment calibration, equipment validation must assess the running operation of the piece of kit, rather than verifying if its sensors are working within the given limits. This can form part of a PDI or EQ. Can be important in establishing the critical limit of a CCP.
