Linked to tree pollen sufferers, the protein found in soya Gly m4 is comparable in structure and properties to Bet v1 found in tree pollens i.e. birch. Edamame, miso, soy protein, pastes, processed foods, tofu, chocolate (in foods as soya lecithin). The common allergy is IgE – more common in children, it can cause mild symptoms (rash), more severe – abdominal pains and vomiting and even severe – anaphylaxis, death.
