BRC

The British Retail Consortium is a Trade Association of retailing companies. The term BRC Standard, (or BRC Audit Standard) refers to the Global Standard for Food Safety. The BRC developed the Standard for Food Safety which was first launched in 1998. The audit standard is a pre-requisite in UK food manufacturing and is a GFSI standard. Compliance to the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety is assessed by regular audits and a successful audit would result in the issuing of a “BRC Certificate”. Also See BRCGS.
