
Bovine spongiform encephalopathy, centre of a food scandal due to the disease in cattle in the UK in the late 1980s and early 1990s. belived to be due to cattle being fed MBM (of cattle and sheep) causing a formation of a Prion and infecting cattle. Was thought to cause the disease CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) in Humans.
