
A type of lipid. Its adverse health effects are well documented – this refers to LDL cholesterol, Low-Low Density Lipoprotein. HDL (High) is is good for the body in that it helps regulate LDL. Cholesterol is a waxy substance produced by the body and found in cells, it is not required in the diet. Used to make hormones and fat soluble vitamins.
