Binary Fission

Process by which bacteria replicate and multiply. Where the cell nucleus divides into two daughter nuclei, followed by the subsequent division of cell body to form two cells.

It takes bacteria 30 minutes to multiply, which means in a matter of 24 hours, due to binary fission, 1 bacterium cell under the correct conditions, can grow to a colony of a 14 log increase.
