Coliforms

Coliforms are gram-negative, faculative anaerobic, rod-shaped bacteria and usually a sign of faecal or post cook contamination. Enterobacteriacea or Enteros has replaced Coliform tests in recent years as Enteros testing will detect all of the Coliform families as well as E coli. Normally part of an FBO’s water microbiological testing. A good indicator of unsanitary conditions.

For more information on Enteros, see Enteros Micro Data Profile.
